Copying or Linking a Sample Record

To reduce data entry, you can copy a monitoring or noise monitoring sample record. Details unique to each sample (e.g. employee, calibration data, results) are not copied. If you are copying from a Blank sample type, the new sample will include the Blank ID as reference. When you copy a noise dosimetry sample, the exchange rate and criterion levels are copied as well.

Monitoring samples can be linked if you want to combine samples to calculate an integrated time weighted average for a sample set collected on the same day for one employe. Most of the information on the Monitoring and Agent tabs is copied to the new linked sample.

Copying a Sample Record

  1. Open the sample that you want to copy, then choose Actions»Copy.

  2. Enter (or accept) the new sample number.

  3. Change information as required to complete the new sample.

Linking a Monitoring Sample Record

When you link samples, whatever sample you link from (i.e. initiate the Link Sample action) becomes the “Master” sample.

  1. Open the sample that you want to be the master sample, then choose Actions»Link Sample.

  2. Depending on your system settings, new linked samples may be automatically numbered as the original sample number with a numbered suffix appended to it, for example 000027-001. Enter (or accept) the new sample number.

  3. Edit the new linked sample record as necessary.

You can open the Master and its linked samples at the same time: in the Monitoring list, select the check box beside a sample that shows a master number, then choose Actions»Open All Samples Linked to Same Master Number.
