If Cority’s interface program with a laboratory is in place, you can import clinical test data from the laboratory. For information about setting up a laboratory interface, contact Cority support. Cority accepts HL7 2.2, HL7 2.3, ASTM-88, ASTM-94 and GammaDynaCare formats; the format to be used must be specified in the system settings. For more information, see Changing Your System Settings.
In the Clinical Test Sample list, choose Actions»Import Results.
Select or change the import Standard.
Select the Laboratory the results are being imported from.
Optionally, identify the Health Center and Practitioner.
Click Browse to locate the test results file, then click Import to add the test results to the employees’ records.
Some records may not be imported because of an error with the data in the file, such as the employee number is not found. To view the list of test results, including these rejected records, choose Actions»Process Status and Log. For each rejected record, the Process Log will display a reason for rejection. Rejected records as a result of incorrect data in the import file can be corrected directly in Cority. If there are related rejected records, make your corrections (e.g. employee number, name, DOB, etc.) in one record, and choose Actions»Apply Changes to All (if you do not do this, the changes will only be applied to the open record). Once you have saved your corrections, choose Actions»Reprocess. View the log again to be sure all records have been saved.
If the import file contains clinical test battery codes, clinical test unit codes,or units of measure that are not stored in the look-up tables, the system will automatically add these new values to the corresponding tables with the test type defaulted to “text”. For HL7 imports, a system setting controls if the date of birth and/or the last name must be validated against the employee demographics, and another system setting defines the type of ID that imports should be matched to (employee number, SSN, or Medical Insurance Number). If any do not match, the import record will be rejected and the reason will appear in the Notes column of the import log.
